Ok a little back story here, I work for asmall IT dept at a very LARGE diverse college, I have 2 or 3 office Moles who have nothing better to do than squeal about what OTHER's might be doing, my latest Merit review was the worst yet, albeit, it was the min. required to get what ever pittance they deem worthy, we won't even know till we get it, at any rate, during the meeting my manager kept citing the office "heresy" but could produce NO evidence OR examples, but because it was from MORE than one source he deemed it credible below is my objective response, I know.... i should have run it by you guys.....but hey you only LIVE once!! [/i] well comments? also any info on dealing with office "squealers" and Office "moles"?? C.E.- |

Just a couple of things I thought of you could still submit to him... Despite whatever is happening in my personal life, I have continued to perform my job with professionalism and completely as expected of me by you. [continue with your word...] I have completed hundreds of AP installs, each requiring layer 2 configuring to complete and I have been assigned to support, primarily, our wireless infrastructure, perhaps missing out on the opportunities to use more advanced layer 2 and 3 protocols, I will work with others in my group to utilize and improve upon these skills. On my Cisco cases, after asking around it seems I am not alone in low case numbers I have no explanation for this, I am on tickets, I work my tickets and I serve the customer. I recently sent you a recent Kudos email from a Sites customer who was extremely pleased with the work I performed. Lastly, the heresy, I cannot address this if you have no specific examples to provide to me. You told me that more than one person has brought something to your attention, yet you are unaware of the exact nature of the issue and you were not willing to share with me the person(s) who spoke with you. I would like to clear this up quickly and with no disruption within our team. My goal is to continue to support our team and continue to work through any and all issues that may arise. no one is coming to me with a specific issue, I have been in the habit myself of just fixing an internal issue and not reporting it, however, I’ll address whomever after the fact next time and will expect the same. rest of what you said... |

Thanks Oy, yours sounds MUCH better......It's mostly about Office politics and I have had my hands OFF the internal "chatter" stuff for sometime, just trying to deal with Financial and BPD stuff, however, I am moving forward with taking the initiative with our wireless protocols, Vendors and RMA processes....... Thanks, C.E.- |
